Each maunscript has to successfully pass the in-house quality control, which has focus on diverse aspects including a) disclosure of source of funding, b) ethical approvals, c) competing interests, etc. Any manuscript which do not qualify in-house quality check is sent back to authors for explanation and clarification. | Overview of the Editorial Process |
theHealth aims to process each submission efficiently to publish the quality scientific work. The Editorial Staff take care of the whole process for the in-house quality check. The articles which get through the in-house selection are then forward to relevant experts for a blind peer-review. Decision is taken on the basis of response from reviewers and a decision letter is sent to the authors and related editorial members. There are four possible outcomes of submitted articles that are a) accept, b) minor revision, c) major revision, d) reject. |
| |
| After Acceptance |
1. The authors are asked to submit the letter of undertaking stating that the article itself or the results have not been published previously, unless otherwise stated.
2. The authors are asked to deposit the publication fee for their accepted manuscript.
Once all the requirements are fulfilled, theHealth sent article, as it may appear in the publication, to the authors for review and final approval. This is the last step when authors could make minor changes in their manuscript or report changes, if any. Upon receiving the final approval, the article is published in upcoming issue of theHealth. If the authors want their article to appear in specific month or date, they should provide the date with valid reason. |
| |
| After Rejection |
If the article is rejected, the authors have the right to appeal against the editorial decision. All the appeals should be sent to the editor[at]thehealthj[dot]com and the word 'Appeal' should be mentioned as subject. While appealing, the authors should give detailed responses to the comments of reviewers, on the basis of which they might think that their manuscript should be re-considered for publication.
Since new submissions are ongoing process so it may take a while for the editorial board to respond to the appeals. theHealth does not entertain any appeals received by phone or any other mode then email.
If the accepted article is rejected at a later stage of the editorial process due to whatsoever reason, 50% of the submitted publication fee will be charged to the author(s) to cover the administrative costs.
